Executive Director of the Eastern Indonesia Knowledge Exchange (BaKTI)

The Eastern Indonesia Knowledge Exchange (BaKTI) wishes to employ a qualified professional to fill the position of Executive Director. The Executive Director position is a full time position, based in Makassar, Indonesia. BaKTI’s core business induces: knowledge exchange for development effectiveness; the design and provision of various forms of support to good governance and poverty reduction initiatives in the region;and building bridges and networks among local reform champions (government, legislative, academic. NGOs, cultural leaders, and private sector). BaKTI works in 12 provinces in the region of Papua, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and Sulawesi). BaKTI provides a platform upon which reformers can share their successes and advocate for further change. SAKTI is the first institution to focus on knowledge exchange for development effectiveness in Eastern Indonesia. With the support of AusAID, CIDA and the World Bank BaKTI is In the process of establishing itself as a foundation. The position offers an exciting opportunity to be Involved In transforming BaKTI from a multi donor development project funded by the Decentralization Support Facility into a successful Indonesian institution.
Executive Director of the Eastern Indonesia Knowledge Exchange (BaKTI)
The Executive Director will be responsible for leading BaKTI, as well as managing and developing BaKTI so that it achieves its stated goals and objectives. The ED will ensure a timely, effective transition from a World Bank-administered trust fund into an independent foundation. The BaKTI Foundation’s Board of Trustees (Pembina), in conjunction with the ED, will be responsible for the strategic management of the new foundation. The position calls for an experienced development professional, with good leadership, management and communication skills, someone who is able to develop and maintain productive working relationships with central and local government, civil society and international development partners and build an effective and efficient organization. The position reports to the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
