Glenealy Plantations (Malaya) Berhad is an oil palm plantation company listed on the Stock Exchange of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with operations in Sabah, Sarawak and Indonesia.
To support our expansion plans in Indonesia, we invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following position:
Finance Manager/Accountant
The Job:
Reporting to the Senior Manager (Finance), Head Office, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Overseeing the finance function of the Group’s operation in Indonesia
- Preparation of and co-coordinating with Head Office on monthly financial reporting and annual budgets
- Applying accounting theory and principles in accordance with the applicable standards
- Analyzing and providing commentary on monthly performance
- To improve on/set up a system of internal control for oil palm plantations
- The finance function of the Group’s operation in Indonesia
- Preparation of annual accounts for external audit and liaising with the auditors
- Preparation of monthly tax submission to the tax authorities
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting or professional accounting qualifications
- Proficient with the requirements of local laws and regulations including local accounting standards and tax legislations etc
- Minimum 3 years’ post qualifying experience gained from one of the leading public accounting firms or large commercial organisations
- Possess initiative and are enthusiastic. Independent and reliable in handling tasks assigned, willingness to work outside normal hours and travel into the estates whenever required
- Ability to work independently to set up a new accounting system for the Company and to implement the necessary internal control systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact with people at all levels is essential
