UNICEF Indonesia is seeking highly qualified Indonesian nationals to fill the following position:
Health & Nutrition Specialist – Jakarta
Under the direct guidance of the Chief of Child Survival and Development Cluster, responsible for: Providing technical support to Field Offices as and when required. Support the Chief of Programme in pursuing national policy agenda and in providing managerial assistance in the overall implementation of the Health & nutrition programme, including coordination with BAPPENAS. Liaise with other technical agencies (WHO, World Bank ADB, USAID, and AUSAID, etc) for the purpose of advocating / advising the Ministry of Health in its policy formulation. Liaise with other UN agencies (UNDP, WFP, UNFPA) for the purpose of advocating Joint Programming with special emphasis on Health & Nutrition. Liaise with other programmes to identify opportunities for coordination and programme strengthening. Qualifications: Advanced University Degree in Health Sciences or related disciplines. Eight (8) years progressively responsible experience in related field. Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia both in speaking and writing. Must be able to provide up to date professional expertise to the Field Offices in his or her sector and to leverage this expertise successfully to meet the goals of UNICEF. Must be able to demonstrate the requisite aptitudes and experience for developing, managing, monitoring and evaluating health programmes. Technical understanding of health projects including knowledge of latest developments and technologies. Current knowledge of development issues, policies as well as social programming policies and procedures in international development cooperation. In-depth understanding of Indonesia decentralization policy / process required. Training ability. Good knowledge of computer management and applications. Good analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills. Supervisory and managerial skills. Proven ability to conceptualize, develop, plan and manage programmes as well as to transfer knowledge and skills. Ability to work in an international & multi-cultural environment.
